Featured 1945 Allied forces drive into German town (Husten)

    One of the prints that came with them had written the following:

    "Town Square, Husten, Germany. We spent one night in the Hotel Union, a musty old bed. Our vehicles (A's) practically filled up the square"

    Ah, thanks, now I got it. It is Hüsten (Arnsberg)...

    No problem.

    I got these from Ebay, they shipped from the USA. About 12 photos, but from the numbering they appear to be part of a larger collection. Always a shame when collections get broken up, as this creates gaps in the telling of the event which once took place.

    It would be interesting to see this same spot today, before and after as it were. I did a brief google map search an was unable to locate the town square. It may not be there any longer?
