    It looks pressed, is it?
If it is, then I vote newer in the last 30-40 years. Imported from one of the Eastern European countries.

Komo - tht's why I like it - deeply notched.

Cluttered - yes, it is pressed.

It appears to be lead crystal - no wear on the bottom that I can see.
I think it is a East European piece of glass, sometime in the last 30 years or so.

    A very pretty bowl.
I'd have bought it. For some reason I seem to have a collection of bowls that I like and can't part with. I'd keep it and use it.

I agree with cluttered, newer, probably sold as giftware with few if any other pieces in the same pattern and no pattern name as retailers didn't expect people to look for matching pieces.

    Thanks TallCakes.

I like the exaggeration of the bowl, but that underplate is just too much.

Towle was a silverware company. Not a glass company. They would have imported and put their name on it.

I was working a dept store china dept in the early 1990s.
Gorham, Lenox, Mikasa, Wedgwood, and other companies started selling glassware. Most of it was from Romania, Slovenia, and one other country that I can't think of at the moment.

I have a whole set of crystal stemware from Towle - some of them still have their stickers on. Made In Austria.
