Another piece I had about a million years ago. I have it ID'd as from the Okanagan Valley in B.C. Didn't look like a kit to me. Just another item I was unable to sell, which seemed a shame to me... it was nice. What kind of work was it? The frame was about 26" by 22", the art work 16" x 20".

Take this with a huge grain of salt, it MAY be long stitch. But I am no expert so wait for others to say what it really is.
    great colors.

Looks like long stitch to me too.

I'd call it embroidery. Unless it's wool, and then I'd call it crewel embroidery. :cat:

But in the late seventies/early eighties, everyone called it "long stitch"... I have no idea if that was a marketing ploy ("embroidery sounds too hard") or if it has Always Been A Thing.

I suspect kit, but a nice one.

It was done with something more like yarn than thread (if you see what I mean). I associate embroidery with a finer thread, so "long stitch" works for me. But there are definite affinities to embroidery, and what do I know about these definitions?

    Thanks for looking.

Also could be known as long stitch needlepoint.
I only think this may be so because I recently bought a gazillion craft kits NIP
and have been going thru them and learning stuff as I go.

    Technically, it's all embroidery.

But "long stitch" is the most commonly understood/sought description for this particular type of work.
