Clear glass decorated Fruit Bowl on tree trunk metal stand with kids going up trunk. The top is 10 1/4" from tip to tip. The bottom diameter is 4 1/4" adn the metal kid trunk stand is 5" height and its top trunk diameter is 1 1/4" top and bottom trunk diameter is 2 3/4" diameter. Who made it, what is the pattern, what era, what is the trunk metal stand and what was this used for and what is it called? What would something like this be worth? Thank you for assistance in this matter. Rob

    Hi,
Those 'crosses" at the end of your glass are nagging at me. I know the maker just can not think of the maker since I am going to bed it will occur to me later.

The glass part is the Petal pattern by Federal Glass.

I have another piece by Federal Glass. Are the kids on the stem of a flower or on the trunk of a tree? Thank you for help. Rob

    It is not cut glass.
    It is pressed glass.

Agree with Federal Glass - late 1960s.

Isn't a child cherub called a putto? Although I would call it a cherub, like anyone's ever heard the word putto. I think I learned it here.

Pam, a while back, I saved this, because I ALWAYS get confused about putti & cherubs!

... it's difficult to tell [(the) difference between a putto and a cherub] since they are both depicted as winged, naked babies, and both called Cherubs. The only way to tell is the setting in which they are portrayed, be it secular or religious.

Federal probably sold the glass to a jobber who combined it with the metal and sold it as giftware. Although possible I doubt Federal Glass's name appeared on it when sold.
