    Your very welcome.

My greatest joy is being able to help folks with their antiques and stuff. This is the kind of find that makes it all worthwhile.

I was a little concerned seeing it sitting on the corner of that table in your other thread. One stray cat...or elbow....

I know I always say that my primary interest is American antiques but I've always followed the market for Quality Italian glass. Most isn't marked and the only way to spot it is to recognize the styles. I knew your's the moment I saw it sitting on that table.

An important rule (of thumb) in antiques in general is the least important thing to look for is the mark. Learn the pieces, not their marks. I LOVE unmarked stuff.

Don, I don't remember the details, just how disappointed she was. I remember her saying something like......lesson learned!

WOW, what a great find and to think if Don had not ID'd your piece it could have sold for maybe 5 bucks? :(

    Congratulations :cat:

Funny thing is......awhile back (maybe 2 years), when I bought it I posted it on the eBay glass boards trying to get an ID and didn't have any luck. Kept it around the house and used it as a catch all. Then packed it away for the move and forgot about it until it showed up today. I'm so glad I decided to check once more before I got rid of it.

Nice piece! Went through a spell a few years ago where Italian glass was finding its way into my hands on a regular basis, never paid more than $6.00, most selling from $50.-$150. (with a couple of happy exceptions). Was fairly good at identifications and descriptions, a New York glass dealer bought several pieces and was happy to see that his prices didn't have huge mark-ups from mine.

Share your feelings regarding 'gloaters' - have seen way too much of it in this business. Someone has been offering to buy a fairly rare piece of mine (lowballing, too) - even if interested in selling, just keep remembering his feedback on a piece that I didn't see until after sold rather cheaply, "Woohoo, rare ***, worth $***!". He's well known in his field, but that rude and hurtful comment has stuck in my mind for years...
