I think there is a typo too in the description... ANTIQUE is said too:joyful: and it does look antique battered:confused:

The value of mine isn't a concern for me, as I don't sell, only hoard what appeals me:hilarious:

Thank you for all your searches and help

The link you provided, which shows a closed sale of a china head and a current doll complete with body (blond doll), are both CHINA HEAD DOLLS. Both would have bodies made of either kid leather, or cloth and sometimes with half china limbs (legs, feet, arms, hands). They should not be confused with a frozen Charlotte, which is completely one piece with NO moving parts.

    Hopefully this is useful information.:cat:

A frozen Charlotte made of china, is completely one piece without any moving parts.

This is an ascertained fact :joyful:, thanks for pointing it!:)
I think Lucille showed the bust because of the comparable style of its face and hair AND THE 1970 date in description (which I think is a typo for 1870):shame:

Thank you Kyra......I thought it would be good info to point out the differences......

My apologies to Lucille for misinterpreting her intention.

    All is good once again!:cat:

Ha! I didn't even try to bath her!
Her belly is rather... round, the soap would slip:hilarious:

Exactly. To add to the confusion, Ebay shows a completely different auction when you open a completed listing to try to drum up additional sales, that's why I specified "view original item". So the blond haired doll in a live auction, was just Ebay's ad. I was only referring to the original closed auction of the hand painted doll head, and Krya is correct, was pointing out the "antique" and "1970s" in the description.

I should have noted with more emphasis that it was a head/torso. Just a follow up on my post saying that there were a number of reproductions of this general category (19C white ceramic hand painted face dolls, torso dolls, full body, etc.) from the 1970s and showed another example saying "antique" and "1970".

Sorry for the mix up!

Not a problem really. I just didn't read it the way you intended.

To me, there is no correlation between the two. I can see why, however, that it could be assumed otherwise.......

I always found it interesting as to how the name "Frozen Charlotte" originated.
