Featured Glass paperweight question (sorry - I don't think it's antique)

I first will apologize for posting this in the Antique Forum section instead of General Discussion ... I'm just not sure that the 'glassies' will see this in that section.

I actually have several questions about newer-than-antique glass .... should I post them here or in the General Discussion section ... or not here at all?

This looks like the type of paperweight with ice-pick flowers that was made by St Clair, and has an impressed mark on the base in the manner of St Clair (or their offshoots), but the mark on the base is only a "DR".

Does anyone recognize what company this DR belongs to?

Yes, it is very similar to St.Clair and others as you have mentioned . I have never seen the "DR" mark and a quick web search of my saved paperweight sites came up empty. Sorry I can't be of more help.
PS..it really is a nice color and nice weight !

I couldn't find anything either. I think there was another paperweight with the same DR mark posted here at one time but I can't find the thread.

 

Also said is was signed by the master D. R.. but doesn't say who the master is.

I think your's is much more "breathtaking"

I, too, thought that I read a post about a weight with this DR mark (quite a while ago, I think) ... either here or on the eBay boards ... but searching the terms 'paperweight' and 'dr' brought up nothing useful Maybe it was on one of the FB glass groups ..... ?

Now, some of the weights shown on that page are what I'd call breathtaking! I'd looooove to come across one by Paul Stankard some day - his work is simply beautiful.
Thanks for sharing that George Nesmith! I'd almost be embarrassed to ask about my pedestrian (in comparison to their examples - not a term I'd use to try and sell it ) piece of glass ... but will keep their site bookmarked if I should need it.

 

You know Quirky, in thinking back, my Mother had one that looked almost exactly like that but a different color. Think hers was pink. I remember wondering as a young child, how did they get the bubbles inside. Must have been post WW2 - maybe late 40s or early 50s. Sorry I can't help with the maker.

I own only 1 Paul Stankard..early one..so not nearly as complex as his work now !
Started following him early in his career, but could not afford him even then..!

I'm so envious!!!! It looks beautiful in your photo, but I bet it's even much better looking in person. I can imagine staring into it from every angle for hours (sigh).
