Haha, the tiny Epiphanie baby/" not a frozen Charlotte"! I knew you'd say that

The teal blue thing is a bonus for me, it is old Vauxhall glass, japaned back, blue iron, and was certainly part of a hair decoration, I love it too!

ONE PIECE was my goal:pompous: and it was not the blue thing:D

I looked again, again & again.....and I still can't guess. Do like that you named the center piece.....Vauxhall glass.

Epiphanie baby? Is that a baby?????

As in Nativity baby? Baby Jesus?

On the 6th of january for Epiphanie (commemorating the 3 kings visiting Jesus!) , a "Galette des Rois", puff pastry stuffed with almonds based filling is shared. Inside is a "fève", little figurine, the one who find it is the King, chose his Queen, and will pay next year for the galette:p

Not really a song at 70€... but very pleased with the goodies:
A silver buckle part with the french hallmark hare's head, the Vauxhall glass bandeau, and nice old engraved black mother of pearls buttons:woot:

Shakudo is hard to find at good price, I have another lucky find, which fits perfectly in my bug jewellery area of collecting!

A bracelet with 15 panels depicting all different insects and a snail!

    Unmarked silver mount.
    18.5cm long.
    2cm wide.
    Heavyyy!

One hinge needed a little soldering, another is a little distressed but functional.

I think it is first third of 20th century, the shakudo pieces were intended for making a bracelet, not alike older pieces coming from Japanese arms/swords.

Exquisite detailed bugs and bzz bzz!

You can figure how delighted I was to find it

Also a tradition in New Orleans here in the US - called a 'King Cake'.

That was definitely a good buy, even if not quite 'a song'!

Saw the crane but thought the pink flamingo might have been a miniature painting. Is it??
