Featured Green Bead Necklace Glass?

Morning All,
I'm trying to figure out if the beads are glass or ? They are cold and heavy, kind of smoky/cloudy rather than clear, have inclusions in them.
The first 4 photos show a true colour of the beads, the last 2 photos are in the sunlight. The necklace is 19 3/4"L, quarters shown for size reference
any information appreciated

My sense is that they are stone, although am more certain of what they are not than of what they are. Have been turned into a necklace in the most inexpensive way possible, so are not going to be highly valuable. Just out of curiosity, have they been looked at under UV light?

 

thanks Bronwen I just added a couple of photos under a blacklight - not a brilliant glowing green, a few of them do react somewhat

 

Probably olivine or serpentine, first guess. It's sometimes called "new jade" but jade it ain't.
