    Just checking i have got my facts correct before i list: Japanese, chrysanthemum, mother of pearl?

    MOP, yes, and chrysanth, but many of these were made in Bethlehem.

    Probably synthetic MOP beause the back is flat. At that thickness it would almost have to be curved. Not a big deal because the carving is the valuable part. It doesn't look like most of what I associate with Israel, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be. The design looks more Japanese or Chinese.

    Out of curiosity I looked up synthetic MOP. Fascinating article of lab Mop. Might be hard to tell the difference. I was just wondering if synthetic would be warmer to the touch.

    I would never have thought MOP would be valuable enough to justify creating it. Mine is curved slightly, so i would think natural. Thanks all.
