Does anyone recognize this plaque? It looks like bronze and heavy and has a signature at bottom. It looks like OC or DC? And who could that man be? Thanks guys for all you do!!!

Could be an early 1920's depiction of a mustard gas victim from WWI, in the modernist style.

Agree that this could depict a soldier but could be as late as Vietnam War. Subj may be wearing a standard US-issue rain poncho, and has some head/eye injury. Think the two bars and small disk are there as an artist-concept shoulder weapon carried by its sling, vertical one is barrel and horiz. one is butt plate. Disk is receiver or whatnot. The laminated walnut plaque I will assume is contemporary to the bronze and could easily be 1970's or later. It looks too "young" to me to be WWI -vintage, not sure even WWII, but think both Korea and Vietnam are possible.

The following is speculation so any other facts/opinions are invited: The lighter-colored walnut wasn't much used for plaques ca. WWII, you always saw very dark hardwoods used, and I'm guessing later the lighter shades came into use when the darker stuff got scarce.

Thanks for all the opinions. I was thinking soldier but I hope not mustard gas victim. Lol

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Those hands and that face just look more feminine to me, IMHO! But no clue otherwise....sorry.

Feminine? I'm glad my wife doesn't have feminine hands like that then. :yuck:
