Featured Carved Mythological Head ?

    any ideas who this trickster batman looking guy might be?
    Large piece, dense wood. Suppose Chancay?

    I would guess Chancay as well. I don't know if it is genuine of the period, although wood can survive for a long time in the dry desert.
    There are authenticated Chancay wooden panels, but also fakes from different periods.

    After I posted I found some examples that matched up really well with the wood, primitive saw marks and adze patterns. The preservation of the piece really threw me off but so far it looks right by comparison.
