USA Green Planter.jpg USA Green Planter 2.jpg Hello Folks,

Got this planter recently at Illwill during one of their half off sales and was curious if anyone here had any ideas on a possible manufacturer for this piece.

    Thanks,
    Joe

Not that I KNOW anything about this stuff, but it reminds me of stuff by California Pottery....but didn't they usually mark things Cal. Pottery?

@Mansons2005 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How long have you been back on the scene??????? Am I missing something???? It is SO GOOD to "see/hear" from you!!!!!! I too know diddlysquat about pottery, so rarely, if ever, comment on it! BUT, it's SO NICE to see you posting!!! Of course, I have been in and out over the last several months, and myself may have missed much!!!! So, please someone clue me in if I'm way out in 'left field'?

Brush McCoy did not exist when this planter was produced. The companies separated in the 1920's and this planter was produced by Brush Pottery in 1981. I was initially squeamish about a Brush attribution because it's a bit unusual for them to have a letter designation as an identifier. The exception is their cookie jars which start with a W. Usually an F designator reminds me of Hull. But it is in the Sanfords' book on pg. 126.

And it's good to see you back Mansons2005! You were missed.

No, you are closer to right field that I am! I just "returned" within the past 48 hours. I explained somewhat on my initial post, but in essence, I have decided that I have to get off of the emotional roller coaster I have been on regarding the deaths of nearly everyone from my generation.

It is so nice to be back, so nice that so many of the folks I have known (and loved and admired!) for the past two decades are still around and going strong sharing their knowledge and humor. I have also reserved a place in my admiration for those members that I would consider new (only known 'em for 5 years? Babies!!!) - you are all so important to me and to my sometimes slipping sanity!

Too Much, Didn't read it all? (TMDRI): Its nice to be back!

HeeHee! Thank you for the welcome back, Don - which I found particularly amusing as my mouse cursor (which is in the form of an uppercase I) was positioned on the m in "missed".....................and on first glance I read it as "You were pissed"!!!! My first reaction was to try and remember my last interaction on the forum - one never knows what strange directions my mind has gone and may go in so it was (remotely?) possible that I threw a tantrum or something on my last visit! Pleased to remember that was not the case................I hope..................

Just TRY to shut me up! Go ahead, just TRY!!!!!

Glad things have evened out for you. 14 months can seem a lifetime, but in perspective, there is a lifetime after those 14 months, so leave them in the dust and charge forward with banners fluttering!

I do find that Sanford guide pretty confusing, since you have to go back to the front to check dates of operation for the various incarnations of Brush and Brush-McCoy.
