Blue - "cut to clear" crystal jar. I think the marks on the silver rim are French...I think - they're a bit mashed up. Guessing it's the post 1838 Minerva mark - but looking to confirm. The cut crystal is heavy and deeply cut and well polished.

    3 1/2" tall (about 9cm).

Opinions on the glass - Czech? If the silver rim is French does that make it any more likely the glass is French?

    Thanks for looking!

If the only choices are Czech and French, I'll take French. But don't ask about the glass, because I know nothing on that score. ;)

Thanks Bgma :) Those were just my assumptions - based on my limited knowledge - but I tend to agree with you.

The glass is most likely Bohemian cut to clear if the silver dates to 1800s.

I was thinking mustard or horse radish.
Suppose it could be a vanity jar as well.

Not really close to any inkwell shape that I can find - and the opening is a bit large for that I think - about 2". But - a possibility. I originally assumed it to be some type of vanity/dresser jar - but condiment makes sense too.

Maybe a toothpick? Then it’s not missing a lid, too?

Bohemian glass, French top. We did the same: imported glass and embellished it.
