This time I come with this really huge ( 18 inches diameter) lovely bowl. So far away I only think that I know, that this is a wine cistern, but I have no idea from where or how old it may be. I need your help here again, please.

    I suspect it's a bird bath.

Or may it be a bowl for water lillies?

    I like it.
It has a vine leaf motif around it, but it also has 'splashing water' decorations on the rim. Confusing.

I am slowly getting lost, if we talk about its functionality. I even started looking for basins, or punch bowls, or compotieres, but nothing is certain here. And I am curious, how these tiny blue white ornaments above masks and leaves are called? Are they called somehow ?

So very pretty. Reminds me of the Brush McCoy jardinières.

I don't think it is old.

You say it is 15" deep and 18" diameter. Could it be part of an out door fountain missing the inerds?

JMHO, thinking 15" sounds too deep for a bird bath....they like to hop in the middle and splash around......around here anyway!!:rolleyes::joyful:

This is something! Yes, I suppose it is to punch out, because there is almost half thinner bottom.

Looking more likely then that’s it’s a fountain that should have a pipe where Komokwa has observed. Also the waves at the top could be another indicator.

@Marzena, where I have circled, is that a hole that goes to the outside, perchance?? IF it were then it might be a fountain missing inside parts...... as 'Cluttered' above I think mentioned....or if not, it still could be a fountain as others have suggested!!!

This is just a stamped trail of mask/leaves from the outer side, the reverse. There is no place for any holes inside, only eventually small one at the bottom. Here are better images 20190724_174717_resize_78.jpg 20190724_174725_resize_87.jpg 20190724_174733_resize_86.jpg
I'd rather think about this hole at the bottom

Thanks, that pretty much clarifies that!! So, leaning more towards an incomplete fountain at this point that others have suggested, then!!
