Jester on a gryphon????? I think it came from someone's fertile imagination. Unless it's from a really bad fever hallucination.

It looks like a ca 1930-50 copy of an Austro-Hungarian Renaissance Revival piece.
The copies were generally made in Southern Germany, although never with the usual gilding and/or enamel or stones the originals would have. They often have those 'worn' faces.
The back of yours indicates a late example, and not by Blachian, the most famous maker. Love the chain.
They are collectors item in their own right now, although never as valuable as the real deal.

This is one of my 1930s copies, st George and the dragon by Blachian, also 'just' silver and a worn face:

    Thanks for the great info.
No marks on mine and have not tested for silver. If solid, what fineness it could be?
I’m curious to find what is mine piecr depicting?
Chain by the way sticks to magnet.

Pity about the chain, it is still nice though. I take it the pendant doesn't stick to magnet?
    Either 800, 835, 900, or 925. Quite a range.

That this photo exists... well, it is the perfect demonstration of the internet being simultaneously awesome and useless.

Sorry, I do not know what your beastie is (other than a bit scary) -- as you hint, the lack of wings is problematic for most mythologies.

Possibly a jester - gryphon-like animals were used in a lot of heraldry...

No wings, but he does appear to be "flying". How else would a chicken headed horse get around?
