I agree that it has the appearance of a recent import item. I've no idea about the mark. Pity about the missing lid. I often use lid-less teapots as planters but the opening on yours looks rather small.
It could be. I'm not well versed on porcelain marks. Let me look around. There was a good site for Russian marks that has been mentioned in this forum in the past. EDIT: I found the mention of the site, but it is no longer a valid URL. Edit2: I did some searching but haven't found it. The person who previously posted the good link that no longer exists was @janetpjohn . Janet, do you know of any other good link for Russian porcelain marks?
All my old Russian/USSR/Soviet porcelain marks links are dead. I did find this and it translates as Leningrad Porcelain which led me to the bottom link. https://m.ok.ru/kladoiskatel.koshevoi/topic/66439462772937 LOZ mark LOZ Leningrad 1984 - 1991 https://www.theoldstuff.com/en/porcelain-marks/category/434-leningrad-marks
A similar one currently for sale via etsy. This one is a different shape and somewhat different decoration. But similar enough! https://www.etsy.com/listing/1317498664/rare-loz-leningrad-gzhel-10-cups
Although the riddle is solved just to confirm, this is Leningrad Experimental Plant Ленинградский Опытный Завод - ЛОЗ, the abbreviation till 1991, hallmark between 1984 and 1991, the name Leningrad Plant for Porcelain Items ЛЗФИ was before that. The plant was closed after 1991. https://farfor.club/kleima/index.php?zavod_id=lzfi Well done, Figtree3 and Say_it_slowly! Here is an active link to Russian USSR porcelain marks https://farfor.club/kleima/ In Russian, with search function. I have a couple of USSR porcelain items, collect them, speak Russian. Will be happy to help in the future, if needed.
Thanks, Komo, I think I already did it. There are a many items of this plant sold on Russian sites, e.g. meshok. Examples https://meshok.net/en/item/276749804_Набор_из_двух_чайников_ЛОЗ_СССР_Петух_1980_гг https://meshok.net/en/item/274421024_Чайник_Синяя_роза_ЛОЗ_60_70_е Not to be mixed with ЛФЗ, Lelingrad Porcelain Plant which is the successor of the Imperial Porcelain Factory in St. Petersburg, est 1744.
