Maybe G.M.Hendrickx? Both Hendrickx and Deligne are Belgian names.

I do not think this is your guy (Gus Hendrickx), but I've landed on him a couple of times (on a couple of different sites) and there are a lot of letters from/to him and info I cannot read.

Google says the language is Dutch.

BUT. "De Linge" still may be helpful in sorting the info on the art. Not helpful to me because of a major language barrier. But maybe to someone else. <wink wink nudge nudge> @Any Jewelry

 

Thanks, interesting stuff! Maybe one of the Hendrickx family members who posted or provided that info would know the person mentioned in the Shell inscription.

 

Ok, his unit ID must be: “15th Regiment De Ligne, 5th Company.”

The regiment has had many similar names since formed centuries ago, is basically the 15th Infantry Regiment.

No doubt somewhere in France there is a roster of the 5th Company from 1918, that will include G.M. Hendrickx.
