    Gown, before and after.

Without the cuffs I added in:

And here it is, with the cuffs. The fabric is so dark, I don't think you'll be able to see it very well, but they're there...

Thank you for the mind prod! Somewhere I have a silk Chinese inspired dressing gown that I should get out on the market - I'm certain that it will no longer fit me.

Besides, I like your DG better.............

Post a photograph of it! :p

Here's my two vintage robes, side by side...

My mother thinks I'm crazy for buying more than one, but...they're so comfortable in winter. And apart from that, you can't possibly get this kind of quality for these prices anymore. I know - I looked!!

Besides, you always need an extra one in case one is being washed or at the dry cleaner's. Or in case you spill something.
The tartan is a version of Black Watch, but with finer bands than the original military Black Watch. Still in the same category though.

More accurately, I can't see the order the colors appear to narrow it down to specific version. ;)

This piece (the above web site's example) is "blue green red green blue black blue black"

Shangas' is a Black Watch imo.:)
Black Watch is a military tartan based on a Campbell tartan, but unlike most tartans it has only three colours and is very dark, hence the name Black. It is also much darker than for instance the hunting tartans, which have subdued colours.
It is a very popular tartan, especially with people who can't wear a clan tartan.

    I got that. ;)

I'm not insisting Shangas use the site I linked to... just pointing out a tool.

For difficult tartans I used to check the Kinloch Anderson site. You could see and recognize them immediately, without having to check the order of the order colours of the tartan you have in front of you.
I haven't visited the site in years, but maybe that is an idea.

I tried it with a tartan that is supposedly related to my ancestry. It worked! Although the scarf I have with the tartan is much darker in the hand than in their online sample. They probably brightened things up online for visibility.
