not so old but..i dont find the artist

today i buy this canvas ,its not old but its clearly a beauty
sure the artist is good but maybe not yet priced now?

size 60cm x 50cm
artist : G moulin JKM ...do you know it?
probably from belgium?maybe france?

Don't think it's much help, but I see the surname as Moulin.

 

I'm trying to understand the play of shadow and light. it looks like direct light is coming in from both sides but there is no shadow for the green bottle. there is a shadow for the oil lamp though.

Moulin is much usual french or belgium name or name thing like moulin à café or moulin..

At 40 with the frame is a mint..very nice work!

 

Think the shadow for the green bottle is that dark vertical strip to the right of the lamp chimney. But you're right that light/shadow not accurately rendered. Example: the feathers. Think this still life may be work of amateur artist.

As I said, I didn't think it would help much. Some surnames are unfortunate when it comes to searching on them.

I'm with @Debora that this is the work of someone who likes to paint/hobbyist/student. Not a bad thing, my house is full of such paintings.

I wouldn't imagine a lot of profit to be made in selling, but I don't sell, so I could be wrong.

 

Yes there does appear to be light coming from both sides, but from above (see the shadow under the table's top). I think the key to the perspective is in the shadows created by the feathers we can't see (off to the left side of the table) Amateur artist or not dyslexic shadows are not an easy mistake to make.

Also zoom in on the reflection in the bottle and those on the lamp. IMO someone was having a very fun time leaving Easter eggs lying around.
