Fine! Will you post a link when you'll list it?
I'm out of hope to be able to buy, because of the saphiret rage :arghh:, but interested anyway:)

If I or another joolie found that, it would already be residing in our hoards. It'll find a buyer easily. (see above - typed as I was typing!)

086C6EB6-515E-430D-B9B6-19AAD585D1B2.jpeg Can I show an unfortunate cross? Yesterday I wanted to clean my 'Croix Badine' (south of France, 19th century) because it had horrible RED stains all over it, almost looked like rust!
So I started cleaning and all of a sudden this happened:it broke into three pieces!:(
It had had a very bad repair at some time before I bought it and was actually GLUED together with horrible glue! So thats where the red stains came from.
I could remove the glue and most of the stains on the front although the back still needs some work.
But I didn't feel like working on it when I suddenly ended up with three pieces
Anyhow, still a nice cross and it should be fairly easy to find a jeweler who can repair.
Just wanted to tell you guys: beware if you start cleaning jewelry! :hilarious:

Uuhh, sad, but at least it fell apart in your hands and you didn't lost any parts :)
You need a jeweller who does laser welding, and ask him to not machine polish the piece after! Or you'll get a brand new shining cross:facepalm:

    Kyratango,
    Thanks for your advice!
Yes, I need a good jeweler for a whole bunch of broken pieces.
I haven't found one I trust enough to hand my precious though
Yikes! I would hate to get a shiny new cross back! :vomit:

The poor thing! Seconding to the laser welder. I just hope no one thinks it should have a good dip in the tarnish stripper. (arggh!)

The cross depicts the 14 stations (letters STA and Roman numerals) beginning with Jesus condemned and ending with Jesus at the cross.

The 4 Flemish crosses (Vlaamse kruishanger) are silver with gold details and the backs are vermeil (silver with a gold layer).

As you can see they look alike but they are still all different. Some are highly detailed, others, not so much.

Some have table cut diamonds, most have just senailles (diamond chips).

They are mid/end 19th century and typically Flemish.

Those are pretty! They only show up here in the USA if someone brought them from home and they got out of the family somehow.

Very exquisite! Although not exactly my type of jewelry but even I (with my ignorance) can see how sophisticated its work is. Congratulations, indeed a spot on!

    This modest beauty arrived today.
Upper stone is missing but for the rest its nice.
I believe its a crossover between Croix de St Lo (hidden upper ring) and a Quadrille cross (with smaller stones).
No marks whatsoever to see though.
I think it might date from the end of the 19th century, although the simple design makes it look older.
