hi everyone, picked this up today, I think it's an Unfinished cowboy hat??

Looks like a 1960s-'70s hippie hat, the double thick brim is unusual...

I agree.....not that I ever wore one...............

the double brim is a cheap out for not tanning the brim leather on both sides - probably made by a "craftsman" in Piper's Alley in Chicago, or the Village in NYC, somewhere in the Haight during the Summer of Love..........................not that I bought MINE there - I SAID I never wore one................

 

God I bet it weighs a ton ! I remember when leather work was the hobby du jour.My uncle made belts,wallets,hats,etc. None very well I might add.
