hi guys, something i found today

i was sure it was resin at first glance

but is a very soft balsa type wood, feels a bit like driftwood

i carved a tiny chunk off to burn and its definitely a wood

    large 13" (no 1/2 azzing here:p)

has a sticker that says Royan on base, and also a carved sig that looks like sic

    cant find any info online

    any thoughts appreciated,

    handsome devil ??

I thought he was praying, because he's just had a vision.

Or he's trying to do that heart thing with his hands that all the youngsters do, and he's thinking how do they do it again ? :)

I like it, think it's nicely carved, appears to have been well-loved.

Difficult to keep up with those things at his age, but at least he is making an effort. I like him. And his dog clearly loves him.

    Or..........

He's doing that thing with an imaginary arrow, after being told by a woman that he's just not her type

Looks like a hunting dog. Maybe missing a [very] long rifle...

    I dig it, Chesaroo.

Thanks mate, I'm glad the gun was taken out of the equation, especially after what the farmers daughter said to him

I've Seen men with that look before:)

He's resting his hands on the top of a walking stick, there's a hole on the base below his hands for the tip of the stick. It's more visible on the etsy link.

Some googling indicates the SIC Co "signature" or label is associated with cast manufactured products; some possibly with real wood bases. Also try the name "Alain Mariot."

    Not 100% komo,

It's very soft you can dig your finger in

But I know what your saying, there's something a bit strange about it

The label states hand painted but not hand carved

So there is probably a good reason why they don't sell for a lot

    Think you might be right
