Featured Bad shape banjo... keep or toss

Hi all, not in the best of shape.. only marking I could find was numbers
56989.. Keep or toss it out?

It still looks pretty good, that's just wear marks at the top, the frets are the important part and can't see 'em from here. Have a music store employee put a set of strings on it for you and see if it's playable.

 

Any cracks/breaks to the neck or body? Looks restoreable to me.

no, the only wear is the decal on the end hardened and curled, and some rust on the metal part

 

a keeper.......even as a resto wall hanger it has value !

 

Yes; it needs a bridge, but should be a playable instrument; not real high-quality, and the tuners being push-pegs rather than geared tuners will reduce value a bit - but anyone who cared could replace the tuners fairly easily.
