    Why would an inspection mirror have a spring loaded flap? I get the similarity in shape. I think this is something else. Any history you can share might be helpful i.e. where you acquired it etc.

    Hi Mike,
    I notice you have a Remington rifle pad on your bench, is it possible your search is firearms accessory related? I've seen a lot of crazy old stuff at gun shows some of which you cant tell what it is. And the guy selling doesn't know either.
