    Hi everyone,

These pearls have a sterling silver dragons head clasp. Do you guys think this necklace is meant to be worn with the clasp showing? Also does anyone have guesses on what type of gems the eyes are? I was thinking they kind of looked like rubies. I dont know if the pearls are imitation or not. Do they look like freshwater pearls?

    Thanks!

In the photos the stones look purple like garnet or amethyst and are single cut.

    Could be garnet.
    Yes.:)
You could wear it with the clasp showing, or not. This kind of clasp gives you an extra option. Showing can also mean at the back, if you have a shirt or dress with a nice neckline and your hair up.

look like garnet to me, the whole clasp looks like a dragon's head with those stones as the eyes and the clasp closure in his mouth.

Yes, it is an Asian dragon's head, making the entire necklace a dragon.

There is no way to confirm the stones from a photo, you will need to have them tested.

Yes, I understand I will need to have the stones tested if I want to know for sure. I'm just trying to learn about the pieces and get an idea of what the gemstones might be. I'd never say they're for sure rubies or anything else unless I had them tested.
