Original question was how old. If the Westfalen plaque puts it sometime before 1946, & conditions in Europe for a stretch of time immediately before that made tourism unlikely, we pretty much have a terminus ante quem. It's well made, but less so than I would expect for the 20s or earlier. I find the clasp as interesting as anything about it. Have never seen another quite like it.

I said 'glued in' but maybe plaques sort of snapped into the frames:

It's a clever system. (An enterprising German manufacturer might have marketed them in neighboring countries as well.) Unless someone can make a case for significantly older or newer, not sure we'll be able to say much more about it. Now watch INH come up with one just like it and the maker's name.

My gut feeling based on nothing at all is war time bought by a patriotic soldier or supporter.(did men wear jewellery then?)
Thankyou all for your time you have put into this, really appreciate following the thought processes you share

Those shield are certainly 60s and later, I've a few of them.

The manufacturing method of this rather reminds me of a necklace I posted here a few months back.

7.5 inches is the standard length for a woman's bracelet that is not custom sized.

There is an S[uzanne]. Valelly who has an Instagram account. She either is one or hangs out with gymnasts. Maybe you could sell it to her. :)

Sorry, I have not found this one. I think it’s a search needed to be done in German.

Adding the term “Interlaken” seems to help. But I’m not even sure that is correct.

it's as correct as a hole in one's head. Interlaken is Switzerland; you know - the other ones with another cross...the one that is on the tatüüütataaa...:)

So, the one I saw was Swiss, but similarly linked, and wrongly I assumed it was a word for Interlocked.
But I would not chide someone for not knowing what
“Take the Q line to Dekalb” means. But everyone is different.

If it’s the same style and similarly linked it could still help :)

Jivvy the research is my favorite

to date, my most successful foray into searching in German is: Schild Panel Armband wappen

But in this case, "most successful" is almost the same as, "I've got nothing."
