Yellow ceramic between the arms of chair drink tray

    I found this yellow oval ceramic object that neither my mom nor I can identify. I thought it might go between the arms of chair drink tray. Its dimensions are roughly (7 1/2" x 6 1/8") for the top x (6 3/4" x 5 1/4") for the bottom x 3/4" height. It has a blue and white sticker on the back that says Made in Japan. I would like to find out what this object is and is used for? Thank you for the assistance in this request. Rob

    I'd think the under-tray for some kind of condiment set - perhaps salt & pepper with oil & vinegar...
