My favorite discovery during this little escapade is that the German word for jewelry is "schmuck."

So yeah, I did search on "wappen schmuck."

(for those who don't want to google it "wappen" = coat of arms)

When I was a very young child, watching TV cartoons in the morning before my parents woke up, I would hear an announcement, delivered by a stern male voice, that January was alien registration month. If you were an alien, you had to go to (PO?) & register, probably also setting out the dire consequences of failure to do so. It always worried me because I didn't know what an alien was, so didn't know whether I was one or not.

 

I was looking a bit alien, now that you mention it. was I an X Type alien ? or what does that mean ?

 

She replied and was tried to be helpful by asking a German friend but no luck.
Edit - I asked on another forum and was promptly told almost literally to F.O as it was a Jewellery question not historical.......I told them I would go somewhere where I could get a more knowledgeable answer ....sanctimonious creeps.
