Much of this carved neodymium glass came from Bohemia between the two wars and then after. Wee dishes and such like. Yours is alexandrite/neodymium, the pink/green one is a different rare earth.

Wow. Great searching. You're right, they seem to be the same maker. I wonder when they started putting that metal label on. The second one's back is similar to mine except the label. Thanks so much for tracking this down.

Now I see why it was so easy to find one with this signature engraving while standing in the resale shop. Also a very popular design. Thanks you for finding and posting these. It is very helpful to understand how all this works.

OBB This is most excellent information. I wondered why it changed colors in direct sun. I had no idea they could add something to glass to make it do this. You are certainly a treasure of information. Thanks so much for sharing this. :joyful::joyful::joyful:

@Bronwen Like this? She turned off the wifi, opened 30 tabs, typed characters in the search bar, etc.

@KikoBlueEyes - most welcome honey. Sometimes, the glass collector in me has useful overlaps to jools!

I work at a little vintage writing desk, the kind that can close up & the writing surface slides in & out, so not very much surface area. I use a PC. Most of the time, one of the cats demands the desk top, so I'm usually working with the keyboard in my lap. Problems come when the other cat decides it's meal time & jumps into the bit of lap space between the keyboard & my torso, hunkers down, puts his chin on my typing had & presses down, looking for all the world like he just wants to be with me because he loves me so much. To prevent what happened with your kitty, parked on your nice warm laptop, I end up holding the keyboard with one hand, typing with the other. They gang up on me, because she knows what happens when he does that & gets up to start butting me in the face with her head. They have nothing else to do, & I always cave. I know, I know. Shut them out, put them down, show them whose boss. It would just be maintaining a fiction.

Back to topic. That she appears in jewellery from so many different makers, have to think the glass is made by one maker & sold for use by others. In the cameo show & tell thread we have discussed the recurring Czech glass cameos seen all the time. If Extasia is using this one, probably maker is still a going concern. She's a later generation than the ones on the cameo thread.

Completely adorable. Give them some snuggles from me. I too gave up long ago. They are very jealous of my laptop. This one, Cosette, ripped one of the number keys off when I wouldn't stop typing.

    bluumz Quite Busy

(Sorry to take the thread back off topic but when kitty discussions start it’s hard not to join in!)

Gettin’ my two calicoes high on catnip so they can be within 6 feet of each other without hissing:

That’s Bunsie at the top of the photo and Cookie at the bottom. Cookie has a beautiful face but she’s quite chubby. I always tell her that she could be a plus size kitty model!

My writing got more formal sounding when my 2 (1 a different one) removed & hid my apostrophe key, which I have still to find, telling you more about my housekeeping than I care to admit. Until I was given a new keyboard, I stopped using contractions & minimized possessives. When I really needed, I used the pocket clip from the cap of a stick pen to give it a poke. Had to keep the cap in a drawer so they wouldn't do the same thing with it.

Naughty little sweeties you have there. An apostrophe is a critical key. Actually, Cosette pried up many keys and loosened them. So many in fact that I had to replace my laptop, this time with much lower profile keys. :):):)

I've had the experience more than once that the sweetest, most loving cat in the household turned out to be a mean drunk, warning off all who approach.

Have found that some cats find the smell of peppermint very attractive. The cat who was probably responsible for the missing apostrophe key would practically try to get into my mouth if I ate something like a Peppermint Patty.

Are they litter mates? My desktop cat came to live with me a couple of years ago as an adult cat coming into a house with another cat about the same age. I knew he would be accepting of a newcomer. She immediately found his favorite sleeping place in a closet & moved in. It never got worse than her hissing at him when he got too close. It has been a slow dance, & just when you think the relationship is as close as it's going to be, it changes: they start to lick each other's head while being close because they're waiting for cat food to come down; to chase a little more; quite recently for her to voluntarily lie down quite close to him, almost touching. She started instigating tussles, although he's heavier & she has to scamper off before he can pin her down.

Not litter mates, but from the same parents. They are a year apart. This breeder breeds for personality rather than appearance. Her cats are loving, calm, and intelligent - what I was looking for to share my home. These two are both alpha females, but after the dust settled the much smaller one, Riley, now has the alpha role. Riley asserts her dominance every once in a while, but mostly we have snuggling, playing and loving behavior.
