    Hello all,

Infinite appreciation for your help in identifying Caerlaverock Castle in my Richard P Leitch watercolor! Recently, I purchased the following William Callow watercolor of a castle at auction. Does anyone recognize this location? I've looked around but cannot locate the depicted castle or village. I'm hoping this piece cleans up/reframes well and wonder if Mr. Callow exhibited it.

    Sight size: approx 11-1/4" x 15".

    Thanks again in advance here!

Update: I checked Mr. Callow's diary and discovered he completed 4 sketches of Montrichard on the morning of June 16th, 1836 during his walking tour of southern France. I suspect this was one of them, especially since architrave's piece is dated to 1837. He may have colored/finished them after completing his tour.

Edit: Here's another Callow watercolor of Montrichard dated to 1836. From a 3rd perspective. https://www.artnet.com/artists/will...-loire-et-cher-france-bgXkvnV8UQ4uUupHoK7pFg2
