Help to id the origin and period of this 800 Silver Vase? Incredible hand chased design

    Found this for $5 and was excited when I saw the little 800 mark towards the bottom. I have tried to do some research on it but am struggling because I think it is a vase but I am getting no results. Is it something else entirely? It appears to be handmade and there are hammer marks around the base and the design is for sure hand chased. I saw a similar item that was Persian but mine definitely lacks Persian markings... Can anyone help me out? I was also thinking it appears to be 1800s.

    Beautiful, spart, great find for a ridiculous price. And yes, Iranian.
    It doesn't lack Persian markings, it just lacks the Persian markings you know.;)
    As far as I know, the 800 mark dates from after the last Shah, who was kicked out in 1979. I could be wrong about the date, but it is not 1800s. There are still craftspeople in Iran who make this kind of work.
