ID help please: ceramic open-back tortoise

    Tribe... :)

    Another "estate box" find tonight. Very interested in info about the underside mark. Google Images is not much help. I understand that this figurine originally had a thin metal band that went around the rear, slotted into the two side holes, and sported a tab to place a cigarette on, so I am assuming the original purpose was "ashtray".

    Yes, still a mystery. My feeling is that one isn't Treasure Craft, either. Joining the site wouldn't give anything but the selling price, as far as I know.
