Silver plate musket napkin ring

    Bought this from a stall holder on my travels. Its a silver plated napkin ring. It was pitch black until I took some polish to it. Still needs a fair bit of elbow grease. Looks like 'American company' on underside.

    It has a Meriden Silver Company mark on it. I doubt it will polish much; they made plated "white metal" and a lot of the silver seems to be gone.

    Theres a bare patch on the underside around the mark. The guns are also very jaded. Other than that I think it should come up gleaming.

    Plated items like this won't look like silver so don't polish the plate off!
