Wood corn?

    I'm not really sure what I have ear. Could it be a Route 66-ish tourist souvenir from the desert Southwest? (It came from an estate with lots of corny 'cowboys and Indians' stuff.)

    It's 11" long and hand-carved.

    Any help identifying it would be amaizing!

    Based on the end, looks like it was turned on a wood lathe before it was carved. And it has a handy belt loop! But why is it missing kernels?

    My first thought was a monogram of sorts. Maybe I'm way off on that.

    The blue cord looks hand-braided, to me...an' at least 6-strand at that!
