A Third Asian Bowl, Cleverly Repaired

This bowl came to me with the previously posted 'similar' pair.

~8 dia., ~1 1/4" height, 4 3/8" inside foot-rim, ~10 3/4 oz.

Something about the 2 deer in the central panel says Persian influence, to me. The makers mark is another mystery.

The broken panel at the rim is secured with 2 steel or iron staples, very shallowly placed; they nor their holes intrude into the face of the rim (pics 3 & 4)

The grit from the kiln is more prevalent on this bowl (pics 5, 7 & 8), but there is no chamfer at the outer edge. The bowl sits dead-flat.

This one looks more traditional, early to mid 19th century in style. The Chinese made a lot for the Middle East market, so pattern influence is common.

 

I thought that there was a lot of Chinese influence in the decoration. Cool staple repair!

 

To me it is more like a Japanese Imari.
