    From my vintage vinyl collection:

The December 1964 Blue Cat Records 45 rpm first pressing of The Ad Libs/The Boy From New York City. I’m still waiting for that Boy From New York City.....

*I spoke with my Mom on the phone this evening & we got into some of the things I liked when I was still in diapers lol (that’s what brought this post on, memories; sorry for my indulgence but sometimes things in our collections mean a little more if there’s a memory or story attached to it). My Mom said whenever they played this song, I would stop what I was doing, smile, giggle & toddler dance, good thing they never had smartphones to capture that, thanks Mom ❤️

I’ve got quite a few original Platter Pak record cases just bursting with classic 45’s and all are in incredible playing condition.

    Love it !

I was worried for a minute that it was Pretty Little Angel Eyes - Curtis Lee 1961

Which I once had stuck in my head for at least a week !

All these doo-wop classics have the same standard chord progression, always C / Am / F / G

    (Naughty little face emoji)

That’s a great one @charlie cheswick I bet we could go all day long with the music back and forth lol

Here’s one that gets me to a shufflin’ some mornings

It’s by The Sensations, a group from Philadelphia I believe.

The backbeat of the bass & drums just gets into you, and it makes you want to move!

One more @charlie cheswick before I go....this one is more of an r&b groove to it, but it’s a good song for a Friday!

You are welcome! I love the expression of longing she portrays in her voice, you can feel it in every note sung. And musically, I need not say more, the song speaks for itself.
