Featured Moon face signed watchamacallit

Is this a new or contemporary piece? What is it for? It’s approx 3.5” tall x 2” wide. I can’t make out any of the signature and can’t find anything like it.

looks homemade? is the face glass as well? what about the sides? The bottom looks like glue chip glass. I wonder if it is supposed to be a votive holder?

 

That's a hand made whatsit, probably from the '80s. All those parts were available at the hobby level.

Here's a box I made with one of those moon faces on top (and I still have a couple in my junque drawer).



I'm proud of that box... my own design and construction... so I'l post another picture. It has two baskets that stack inside.
