Cleaning cameo ???

    After a 10 minute soak in warm water with a little dish soap and a brush with a soft toothbrush...

    What a transformation! It always befuddles me why sellers don't take a few minutes to clean cameos before they list them.

    Top hits:
    - They don't care. They have bulk listings and no time to do anything to pieces.
    - They don't know it's dirty.
    - They don't know how to clean it without damaging it.
    - They go by the antique "rule" of some people want original condition/patina because that's where the money is, and they don't know enough about the wide range of collecting to know cameos should be cleaned.
