Sometimes I get a little bit country, bluegrass country

From a young age this was another music influence I grew up hearing, in particular when I went to my Grandparent’s house. I grew up hearing all the songs of the greats of Bluegrass. I also learned of the importance of this music, the skill required to play it, it is truly from the heart & soul. So there you have it, Maven has a little Hillbilly spirit as well....

Hillbilly Jamboree/1960 Brunswick Records Germany first pressing, this vinyl is in mint condition, truly sounds wonderful

 

love this just having my first coffee of the day and listened to this, got my feet tapping and put a smile on my face, thank-you Vintage Maven, my day is off to a great start

I sing this one sometimes out of fun to my older sister of the same name, Amy (we look a lot alike, and act a lot alike even though there is a number of years difference in our ages, I’ll always be the young little squirt lol). Pure Prairie League, featuring Vince Gill with long hair❤️)

 

I'm very much enjoying Ken Burn's documentary on Country Music...
and I'm quite fond of bluegrass; was a volunteer in the first year of the Wintergrass Festival, 25 or so years ago, and have attended every year since...and have a memorable story about meeting Bill Monroe, and actually jamming on "Blue Moon of Kentucky." I'm sure thousands of other mando players have similar memories.
(And I'd highly recommend Wintergrass, February in Bellevue WA, for any lover of music; people come from all over the world to hear top-notch musicians....and incidentally jam all night long.)

 

Once again, an old album in immaculate condition. Amazing!

 

I have seen bits and pieces of the PBS special. Burns does nice work most of the time. I am not a big country music fan, but I like learning.

@all_fakes OMG! I am a Wpg Fest baby, not in a literal sense, sadly I missed the last two years though. That Bill Monroe story, makes me a lil green with envy lol My older sister volunteered at FF for a number of years, through her connections I got to meet Jann Arden, Bruce Cockburn and Buffy St Marie, Colin Haye from Men At Work to name a few, it’s such a wonderful music fest. And thank you so much for the recommendation on Wintergrass❤️
