Vtg unique wood handled carving knife-Is this woodworking tool??

    Hi guys,

    I have this vintage unique wood handled carving knife with a brass clamp of some sorts. Can someone explain what this tool is and what it's used for?

    1st glance I thought oyster shucker,but Ive never seen one with a clamp like that.

    Oh great! Thanks so much for this information! Who would have thought that this tool was a Rose Thorn Stripper??

    We have a long thread on Gardens..... but TTTT , I'm not sure any of our green thumbs grow roses... everything else...yes !!
