I think there's a solution to that problem. I think there was a thread on the subject. Ask a mod maybe? Dave Dempsey might be able to assist

I did communicate with Dave about it. I wanted to close this account to start fresh so I wouldn't lose the threads I follow or participate in (which may or may not happen), but was told if my account was closed, I wouldn't be allowed to make a new one. Seems weird to me, but okay. I just keep putting it off until I make a new email account.

I can respond to posts, but can't start a new one or upload images. This message is at the bottom of all threads: (You have insufficient privileges to post here).

that's weird......I thought only members can respond to posts......otherwise we'd be inundated with posts from non members .......... strange

 

I agree it's weird, and I honestly don't know why closing an account to start fresh with a different email isn't allowed.

I logged on with a user name and password and my email, but never got a confirmation email. I wasn't aware there was a problem (and that I was supposed to get an email) until I wanted to start my own thread with images.

 

Thank you, I may have to if the new email doesn't work. Haven't used private messages yet, but will look at that.

 

My MIL was a big TK fan and had several throughout her home. My MIL and I did not get along, so... bad associations. But I can't blame her entirely, I didn't like TK even before I met her.

 

could be the account would have the same IP address......& we've had problems with banned members trying to get back on the site with new handles...and some newbies opening up more than one account...using the same computer...

I'm not a computer expert....but if the site has parameters..or rules.....it has to stick to them....I guess.

 

That makes sense. I use my local email software - it downloads multiple email addresses to one place which I prefer, so I would have the same IP. That's part of why I've been putting it off.

Just don't tell them it's you.

They can ID your IP/MAC address so just make sure you use a different device. Don't tell anyone I said any of this
