Hiya all, trying to make this out. I am pretty sure the first name is Charles. Any guesses on the last name? Screenshot_20240328-114800~2_copy_199x648_1.png Screenshot_20240328-114717~3_copy_983x648_1~2.png Screenshot_20240328-114648~2_copy_648x797_1.png

No help with the name...but it looks like a very nice blade...perhaps San Francisco, >1860?

I may have its match, but it'll take a bit of searching, komo...You'll get a look if I locate it!

I meant that I have a blade as badly pitted as sdcookie's...somewhere. I don't have a bowie of any age or significance, like that one!

Hi @Sdcookie2, I JUST now at about 8 minutes to midnight, and am too tired to try to 'clean' that up a bit, But WILL be back tomorrow.....it's been a busy day.....Fascinating Bowie knife though.....@mirana might just be pretty close if not correct!!!! Have a good night!!:yawn:

@Sdcookie2, I don't think I cleared up much on the name, at least on what could be a last name....but I also don't think there's any doubt as to the FIRST name -CHARLES.......but the bottom image, at the bottom and surrounded with red, might be a far reach, but I see '177' and a bit of VERY faint initials......may be too weak to try to interpret though...............
