Hi folks picked this up for a pound at a bootsale yesterday

just thought it was a cool image, and could use the frame

peeling off the backing paper today, it seems thats its something else

still not quite sure what a boudoir almanack actually is, never heard of them before

guess this would come under ephemera ?

any idea what these were actually used for or in ?

print measures 14 inches by 11

    any thoughts or info appreciated

Nice picture, love the costumes. Probably after a genre painting.
It is a small almanac or diary for ladies.

thanks for the info Aj and dave, never heard of an almanac before, let alone a boudoir one :)

think i might have to get inside as maybe the almanac sheet was used as a backing for the print, as i cant understand why it would be so large and both sided

Not flirtatious, confronting. She has her hands in her sides, as if she is saying "And what do you think you're doing with the next door neighbour!"

waterlow and sons were a major stamp engraver, thought i remembered the name from somewhere, makes it a bit more interesting

dont know if the date makes it more so as well
