    Horrors...an' nightmares, enough to last three lifetimes. Mein Gott im Himmel!!

    I have not heard that expression since the last time I was in Germany and got knocked in my face my daughter in law watched the whole incident & screamed it.

    I've heard an expression about shoe-button eyes, but those ain't them.
    Can anyone date the dress she's wearing, to get an idea of era?
    I think that image is possibly more shocking than the trio!

    I think the original tintype of the individual girl may have been scanned and edited with PhotoShop or other software. Looks like she has very large buttons, including buttonholes, over her eyes.

    And, Debora... I should have replied to Komo's post, not yours. I agree with your date range.
