I found this today. I looked at the letters stamped in the base and thought oooh native American perhaps. Google is telling me Swedish on all fronts. This makes me think I was reading the wording on the base incorrectly. To me it looks like RIO HEOJA which would infer some Spanish/Hispanic influence. But maybe the letters are in a completely different order?

    Baffled and thanks in anticipation.

Symbols look like these Sami (in Sweden/Norway/Finland and a part of Russia) symbols (one seems to be the hunter)

No luck finding a link with the Sami and the text

Oooh thanks. Never realised the symbols had so much meaning.

One is perhaps a sacrificed animal or some kind of animal anyway. The one that looks like a seesaw eludes me.

    There are loads of symbols.

Oooh it's got a necklace with it. How odd! An unlikely pairing. Maybe it's part of the ceremony.

They dont look like pewter to me. More like stainless steel or Al.

I don't think there is any reason to believe these are ceremonial, just a traditional form. Here are a few more -

The name Oja is Finnish and I see others already suggested that it's Sami. We had friends by that name. Finnish is not a Scandinavian language so that may be the confusion.

Thanks. Interesting angle and avenue to explore.

Most likely of Swedish manufacture (the 'Oja' surname also found in Sweden), they often use the same date codes for silver on pewter - 'R10' would be 1991...
