For those of you who are too young to remember the Beverly Hillbillies show on TV, there was a character on that show whose name was Ellie Mae and she was from the hills of the Ozarks in MO. Well my name IS Ellie Mae and I DO live in the Hills of the Ozarks, near Lake of the Ozarks actually. That’s the reference to being the Real Ellie Mae.
This Ellie Mae loves making jewelry! For years I have made jewelry for myself, family & friends. A few years ago I became very ill and was no longer able to do much of anything. Recently though I became a little better. Enough so that I was able to have an interest in making jewelry again. So I decided that I should set up an Etsy shop so that I could share my passion and sell my jewelry so that I could make more jewelry (it’s addicting!) Jewelry making has given me a purpose and is something I can do from home, since I no longer can work in the business world. As I have study the craft of making jewelry I have found there are so many different mediums and styles in jewelry making. I’m amazed at all the beautiful jewelry I've seen. My imagination goes wild for my one of a kind pieces! And I really hope you like what I have created! Then I discovered recycled glass yard art. Another passion was born! So now I offer those in my shop.
Also as my husband and I are growing older, we realize we have things that we now feel we should let go of so I'm passing them on to others through my Etsy Shop. Lots of fun and interesting things. My husband and I have always liked going to thrift stores, flea markets, and antique stores. When we find things that we like and are unique wind up getting more things for my Etsy shop. It's the thrill of the hunt for unique items and figuring out the secrets of the piece that really intrigues us. As they say one person's stuff is another treasure.
