The shade might be original if the pole was shorter. It should not show underneath the shade.

Absolutely fantastic glaze! To die for-literally, bc the only way I know of to get red glaze is with lead. Two cents: this lamp was hacked to be taller with an extension pipe. And many here find it visually confusing.
Lamps that go on tables or furniture are usually designed so that the bottom of the shade just covers the join between the base and the pipe that supports the bulb. Seeing this, we understand where the lamp belongs, how to use it. Floor lamps exhibit the pipe, use it as a a design element, a way to signal exactly what it is, where it belongs. This isn’t some law, but a matter of marketing. If you try to sell home decor item and it’s not clear what it is, or how to use it, people tend to not buy it, no matter how intriguing it is.
Which is just a theory of what exactly is going on with this lamp. It is SO cool, do you plan to sell it? Bc I will have that baby rewired and reproportioned in about an hour.

    Hi BettyRubble,
Yea i love the glaze on the lamp too it very stricking in the room where it is.

I have the lamp a few years and while most of the family dont pay much notice to it my youngest doughter loves it and spends time most evenings on the couch beside the lamp either snacking ,on her phone or reading with the lamp lit.
Id say it wouldent go down well with her if i was ever to sell it but thanks its always nice when someone likes something that i like too.

    Thanks again

Well, by all means, enjoy it as it is! Love that you and your family love it. Touch back the minute you decide you think it needs to leave your home.
