Featured Any information on pair of large, carved wood Chinese ducks(?)

First - Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to everyone!

I found these yesterday at my local thrift store. I did an image search, but only a single brass one came up.
Are these Chinese? Ducks or swans?
When I saw them I thought of foot dogs sitting on either side of a door for some reason.
Any thoughts of information on them would be greatly appreciated!

I did an image search on it & got this at top of page, but when I clicked on link it took me to a ebay page showing all kinds for sale - but no ducks/swans!

 

Speaking of ducks, this video of a cat leading a brood of baby ducks to a pond & then relaxing on a rock while keeping an eye on them was just perfect to find on Christmas day!

They look Thai to me.

 

Maybe Japanese not Chinese?

I'd say more swan than duck....... but I don't know the significance if any ..

I think mine is gilded? And looking at the bottom it appears to be 2 different types of wood?

 

I'd have figured them for modern Indonesian, but Thai works too. Very recent; I'd be thinking Homegoods or World Market or some such.
