Help with Buffet identification

    This was in the house we just bought. It has velvet lined top drawers, skeleton keys & 5 1855 engraved on the back of the piece. Can anyone give me any information on it?

    Right. But I can never tell if its original Empire or revival. Im going with revival on this one but Im probably wrong !

    Or…..you’re right! Empire Revival ca. 1910 or so, with some slight craftsman flavor as well. Very nice, and with appropriate care could easily last another century. The number is probably an internal inventory number of some sort.
